I always make party invitations, call it creative, call it thrifty (or cheap if you want). I do love making them but also you know they are just a vehicle for information, that will end up in the recycling! Yes I could send a message but there is something about having a piece of paper to hand that makes it a little special, especially for children with their friends.

For years we have made our own advent calendar and filled it with little activities to do each day. Some small, ordinary moments that take less than 10 minutes out of the day. 10 wonderful joy filled minutes. Along with the occasional BIG ones, like visiting Father Christmas in Lapland last year. I am not sure I can ever top that particular day!
