Living Arrows {which originally comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”) is about celebrating childhood, and for me is about one photo from each week telling a story, mostly, all of it’s own.
Yesterday we spent the day at home just relaxing and enjoying the (albeit intermittent) sunshine in the garden and it is where these photos were taken. They were both having so much fun with the simplest of things like water and footballs and it was so nice to sit back and watch.
Eva and Roma both love this little bottle and use it to spray the plants with water when they are helping Eddy to garden, and of course each other too. However Roma wasn’t too keen on being sprayed this time so Eva basically sprayed herself and let Roma spray her so much that she looked like she had been in the shower! She was wearing white jeans and after filling a little bowl full and allowing it to be thrown over her head and down her back she ended up with them literally sticking to her legs. They were in this little game all of their own, making each other happy and I loved seeing them enjoying this moment with the loudest laughter and careless expressions.
Roma remained perfectly dry throughout which is no mean feat I have to say and here she is saying “I don’t know”. You see when she says that, she does this cute little shoulder shrug repeatedly where her arms look limp by the side of her and her shoulders almost hit her ears and back down with speed, it never fails to make me smile and here I captured her mid shrug when being asked why she didn’t want to get wet! Oh and I love her in this tshirt, it is probably one of the most favourite things she has at the moment and suits her down to the ground. Make the future awesome she will, mine at least.
You can’t beat a good water spray and little Roma looks adorable. I love it when you capture the quirky things that make them, them! x
These candid shots are the ones I love the best to capture x
Aw how cute is that. I can just imagine her saying it. Gorgeous photos and I love her tee. #livingarrows
Thank you she is just the cutest!
Oh I love when they develop those little gestures like shrugging, but in their own individual way! Fab photo of Eva with the spray bottle too! x #LivingArrows
It’s so lovely to have these little things about them isn’t it?
I love Roma’s pose in her photo and Eva looks so happy with the spray. It really is the simple things, isn’t it? x
It really is, the joys of childhood ey!
Gorgeous, summery photos! Just beautiful!
Thank you x
That spray shot is brilliant. Roma’s pose is fab, a definite ‘don’t know’ #livingarrows
Thank you x
Oh, these are both gorgeous! I remember so many summer days like this spent in our garden, with me and my sister just spraying each other with the hose / water pistol / whatever we had to hand. #livingarrows
That is definitely something my two have entered into and I do hope they remember it so fondly x
What stunning photos, it’s funny how much kids love playing with water isn’t it? That photo of Roma made me chuckle bless her X #LivingArrows
