Ever since our very first visit to the National Memorial Arboretum just a year ago now it has become one of our all time favourite places to visit… and not just for the best flat white I have ever tasted in their coffee shop, although to be fair that is a massive plus and a big draw on a weekly basis! We have been all year round, seen the seasons change and taken so many different people too.
As I rode steadily along the country lanes, my legs repeating the same cycle of motion over and over again with ease almost instinctively despite the years it has been since I was last on a bike. Nothing but an expanse of colourful fields as far as the eye can see with just a slight hint of another family disappearing over the brow of the steep hill ahead.
At the weekend the sun shone and we took the chance to visit Conkers discovery centre in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. It is an outdoor play and indoor discovery centre set in the national forest with so many activities to suit all ages. It’s somewhere we have been a fair few times before and I vividly remember going when Roma was just a week or so old.
